About SFVAA Convention, Inc.
SFV Convention, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Each year, we host the San Fernando Valley AA Convention, a three-day event held during the last weekend of January, drawing over 2,000 attendees from across Southern California and beyond.
Our Mission
We are dedicated to planning and executing an annual convention for the members of Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon Family Groups and Alateen.
What We Do
Now entering its 51st year in 2027, the San Fernando Valley AA Convention is an annual gathering rooted in the principles of AA and supported by local volunteers. The weekend convention includes:
AA and Al-Anon Speaker Meetings
Marathon and Topic Discussion Meetings
Hospitality Room
Workshops and Panels
Sobriety Countdown
Local Roots, Widespread Impact
While the convention welcomes participants from across the country, the majority of our attendees live in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding Southern California communities. The event serves as an important local tradition in the recovery community.
Annual Theme & Fundraisers
Each year, the convention features a new theme, logo, and color scheme, which are chosen by the Members of the Annual Planning Committee by group conscience and unveiled in the months leading up to the event.
Registration
Convention registration typically opens 3–4 months prior to the event. The event is self-supporting in alignment with AA’s 7th Tradition.
Attendees may pre-register online at sfvaac.org or register in person during the convention weekend.
Governance & Transparency
SFV Convention, Inc. is led by a volunteer, unpaid Board of Directors and supported by dozens of volunteers across various committees. We are committed to operating transparently and responsibly in service of our fellowship.
